Merle coats are the crown jewels of the Rare+ tier — not Exotic, but close enough that most players will spend weeks grinding smoothies to afford them.

Blue Merle

  • Price: 200,000 Cosmic Smoothies
  • Unlock requirement: Complete Cosmic Tier 3 (Expert Frenchie)
  • Visual: Classic blue-gray patchwork pattern on a Frenchie silhouette
  • Best for: Players who want merle prestige without maxing Tier 4 first

Rojo Merle

  • Price: 250,000 Cosmic Smoothies — the most expensive playable coat before Exotic
  • Unlock requirement: Same Tier 3 gate as Blue Merle
  • Visual: Warm red-toned merle patches — rarer-looking and fan-favorite
  • Best for: Completionists who want the ultimate Rare+ flex before Pink

Which Should You Grind First?

Blue Merle first if you are smoothie-efficient. Save 50,000 oz, get merle aesthetics sooner, and redirect savings toward Training Pen upgrades or Black Market gems.

Rojo Merle first if you are a one-and-done Rare+ buyer who wants the top of the bracket immediately. The 50k premium is roughly 30–50 solid runs of smoothie farming.

Future Merle Variants

The roster lists Chocolate Merle as "coming soon" in the retired/future bucket. When it arrives, expect it to slot into Rare+ between Lilac & Tan and Blue Merle in price. A standalone "Merle" Exotic coat is also teased — that would be a different conversation from these Rare+ patchwork classics.

Gameplay Note

Neither merle coat changes hitbox, speed, or abilities. The Sacred Physics Doctrine guarantees all dogs use the same 36×48px collision box. Choose merle for the look and the leaderboard respect — then invest Training Pen smoothies into Breed Bonus for actual score gains.
